Traditionally, an application’s functionality is only available within that application’s environment. It cannot easily be reused by other applications. SOA overcomes this difficulty by exposing an application’s functionality in the form of “services”. These services can be reused by other applications. This process is not, however, without impact on data security. In this module, we will show how SOA renders traditional approaches to application security inefficient.
Delegates will gain an understanding of new approaches to security made possible by SOA. These techniques make it possible to ensure that data is secure without diluting the benefits of using the SOA approach.
